I love that they are protecting themselves and their customers by enforcing mask mandates!

Most people do not practice good hygiene and are in everyone face during the holidays and cold flu season.

Wearing a mask hurts no one.

This is by far the best stocked occult supply store in the bay. It's to the point and not trying to have an Instagram or WitchTok esthetic and focuses on having a good stock of everything a practitioner would need. Be prepared with a mask as they are required in the store (they also have some provided at the front). My only critique is while they do have mail order I wish there was a way to order online directly off the website but overall this is an amazing place.
My partner and I have been coming here for several years and are never disappointed.

Ancient Ways has a little of everything, whether you need religious statuary, candles, sage, jewelry or need supplies for Hoodoo, Brujeria, Santeria or anything else.
Large selection of candles, Florida Water, soaps, books, tarot cards, amulets, incense, herbs .....anything you can think of and things you never knew you needed!
This is my go to place in Oakland!
The staff is incredible.
Very helpful, knowledgeable and they always have what I need.
You can pick up your own divination supplies or get an on point reading right there in the store while you're shopping.
I highly recommend Ancient Ways, I've been shopping there for years and have brought many people to the shop with me and they are all repeat customers also.

The white woman yelled at a man as if he were a child to have the mandated mask cover his nose. Very bad vibe after that. I was really turned off.

It’s definitely a fun environment and the people are great to hang out with and talk to. It’s definitely a safe and open environment. Also, Don is an awesome guy. He really cares for his customers and treats them like friends. Thank you for all the help and support, everyone.

I hope your getting the support you need and not taking out your fears or frustrations on your customers. I would have loved to come into your store wishing you much light.
Perhaps a sign on the door or entrance can give people a choice to enter before they are asked to leave.

So knowledgeable, patient and nice here. I’ve always left this shop feeling good inside. Great selection of herbs, candles and books, and reasonably priced too. The tarot readings I’ve had here have been very helpful in thinking about solutions to conflicts. This is my favorite spiritual shop in the East Bay for sure.
