I found Alex at Agape Salon when I was looking for someone to fix the mess my hair was in after a disastrous experience in my hometown up in the SF Bay Area. Believe me, I scoured the Internet looking for the very BEST Salon in the entire Coachella Valley, and I came up with Agape. Next I needed to single out the Hair Professional who could rectify, improve and rescue my poor hair and my confidence. Alex was and is the answer to my prayers!! She spent a full hour with me discussing what I wanted and how to achieve it, as well as shampooing, deep conditioning and massaging my head and even my hands! Talk about a stress buster. With Aromatherapy, no less! Next was thee cut. She went ever so carefully getting to the chiseled look I wanted. No rash moves or surprises! Then on to the final styling. Wonderful products and an Artist's technique ensured the final look was Runway perfect! Thank you, Alex for everything! And thank you, Agape Salon

Alex was wonderful from the moment I sat in her chair. Warm and friendly, she is also an excellent hair artist! I came in for a birthday blow dry and was very happily surprised to learn that the Aveda salon experience included a fabulous scalp, neck and hand massage along with the shampoo! I told Alex and meant it that if I lived closer (I was only visiting for the weekend) I would be a weekly client. I even found an adorable pair of earrings to purchase as a birthday gift to myself 🙂 I most highly recommend Alex and Agape Salon 👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼

I had trust & confidence in the stylist prior to taking a seat, but I should've realized sooner— that was not the case. I recommend some CEUs on hair textures.

Prior to my appointment, I was asked about my hair texture (wavy/curly) and how I would like it styled (diffused). The haircut I asked for was essentially a short shag/mullet.

When I took a seat, Sara (Master Stylist) sounded confident she understood what I wanted. She immediately talked about smoothing/straightening my hair because it was frizzy. I told her I don't really use products, but I try to find things for my curls. I also requested a razor cut— Sara said she would use one to finish the cut.
I'm not the professional, so I rested on the trust of her word.
Once we went into the cut, I told myself to trust the process, but that was starting to dwindle when Sara outright asked my political views, which I tried not to engage because I don't believe it to be an appropriate topic for acquaintances.
When Sara went in with the razor, it felt like she was sawing my hair— not achieving the feathered texture I was expecting— but forcing graduated, even layers. I was fine with the length of my hair, but the dimension I wanted wasn't there.

I wasn't sure how to let Sara know what else she could fix, considering my hair couldn't be glued back on my head. I just asked for more of the bulk to be taken out since I didn't like that I looked like Coconut Head from "Ned's Declassified School Survival Guide." As she's cutting out the bulk, she tells me that the haircut actually ages me... why would someone think that's okay to say to a client?
At this point, I reluctantly accepted what my hair looked like... I paid for the service, but part of me wishes I hadn't. I will be letting my hair grow out before I decide to let someone else chop it up. If I choose to go back to this salon, I will not be choosing the same stylist.

I also got my brows waxed. They came pretty well.

I just moved to Palm Desert and was in dire need of a men's haircut. I am so glad I discovered AGAPE SALON AND SPA. Ismael, the owner, was welcoming and has created a very zen environment that puts you at ease right away. But wait, I got more than a cut, it was an entire spa experience too. Hot wax, a facial heat wrap, a neck massage and aromatherapy all part of my service!! It's like a vacation for your hair! A big shout out to Evan who really explained my hair's needs and created a new cut for me that I will say is the best hairstyle I have had in decades! I can check finding a hair salon and hairstylist off my list! Thanks Evan and Ismael!

It's not the same. I went here a few times several years ago and it was amazing. Best haircuts ever. Now there is new management... They still sit you do a consultation, but they don't listen. At least my stylist didn't. I went back to have some areas fixed up, it just got worse. Now I'm waiting for my hair to grow so I can find a new salon. 🙁
