I have been so nervous to cut my hair because I haven't seen too many places talk about doing afro textured hair, but Olivia does and Beauty Botanica is the truth! I got a great mohawk with a crisp line up the first time and a trim the second and I can say this will be the only place I'll be getting my hair colored.

Olivia is a talented colorist and stylist. I have been coming to her for a couple years and I won’t let anyone else do my hair. She really has a gift and can take your hair to great places while still keeping it healthy. I also like to support her because she is an Oakland native and small business. And her kids are adorable.

Beauty Botanica is the place to be! Definitely a unique experience with a large and growing history, truly a gem for downtown Oakland. The Art, the plants, the décor and the buzz of the spot all give a nod towards cultura. I won't go anywhere else.
