Would anyone like my Sisley lipstick I just purchased at the Cos Bar for $75.43? I asked the lady about lipsticks for more mature lips. Well, she didn’t know about it and sold me a lipstick that doesn’t work. I thought a higher end store would know their products better.

Our visit, three of us, was so so. The sales person was not helpful. We did purchase a few items but we had to discover them ourselves. Even the things we asked about we were met with a nonchalant attitude. I felt like a pretty woman experience. Hey, we have money to spend here! Big mistake! I do love the store and products, on my last visit a year ago or more, the lady was great. She put me on a mail list helped with products, and made it so fun, hence the reason I brought my friends with me to the store. We only visit Carmel every now and then, but I am sad to say visiting here again will not be at the top of my list.

Great niche products available. Saleswomen are inhospitable. No hello or acknowledgment I was there. I interjected (asking if they provide perfume samples- they do not) in the middle of their conversation and they dismissed me and continued to gossip amongst themselves. Also they said they don’t have makeup remover- just tissue paper, cotton and alcohol disinfectant wipes. By the end I had pilling from the tissue all over my skin which was uncomfortable. Did not make me want to try another color or apply another product after removing the makeup with just alcohol which is very drying. Salesperson nonplussed by the whole thing and did not assist me. I still purchased a product but next time will buy online. I’m local so that’s unfortunate for them because I would like to patronize a local business but obviously they make enough from tourists and don’t care

Update 9/10/17: continual fantastic service from this lovely boutique.
The staff not only remembers you (a remarkable feat for a busy boutique in a town visited by tourists from all over the world) but remembers what skincare/cosmetics you were interested in and makes recommendations based on your interests and needs. They're always helpful and knowledgeable, but never push you to purchase anything you don't want. An absolute jewel of a shop.

First-rate customer service at this skin care and cosmetics boutique in Carmel-by-the-sea. No pretentious attitude. The store is staffed by friendly and extremely knowledgeable ladies who truly take the time to learn what you're looking for, what issues you're having with your skin (if that's what you're there for) and seek out the best products for you. They don't push you in to making a purchase, they explain why a product would, or wouldn't meet your needs, and service is ALWAYS top notch.
I was treated so well on my visits to the store while on a trip through CA (and I just made small purchases at the time), I've continued to patronize this store via mail order. They have continued to uphold that high standard of service initially set on first visit.
A must stop on your visit. Lisa and her staff are the best.

I visited last week and had excellent experience! Great customer service and even had a makeup artist show me a few new tricks. I only get to visit Carmel once a year, but I always stop at the Cos Bar. They never disappoint! ❤

After a long crazy work week, on a weekend away in Carmel, I realized I forgot to pack a few necessities in my rush to get out of town. Frustrated, I was trying to figure out where I could go to pick up a few items without having to drive to a mall and find a Sephora.
A quick search popped up Cos Bar and I was happy it was within walking distance of my hotel.
It was easy to find on the 3rd floor right off of Ocean Ave.
I walked in and was greeted warmly by Carrie who asked how she could help. I was thrilled to see they carried Oribe which was exactly what I was looking for. I then asked about a night cream as my face had been acting up and she and another lovely woman helped me select a great product from Orlane that I am loving on my face!
I then proceeded to buy a bunch of other great items and literally had to stop myself before it got out of hand.

Cos Bar has amazing products! La Mer, Chanel, la prairie, Orlane, Coola, Jack Black, Slip silk and many others.
The store is bright and airy and the service was wonderful. I am so happy to have Cos Bar as THE cosmetics shop in Carmel by the Sea!

I love this place! I always stop in when I'm in Carmel. They have great products, are super helpful and patient and friendly. Not at all pushy! I recommend this shop very highly (and I'm very picky :))

Had most unfriendly service by Lisa.. I spend few thousands in this store in the past .. to be treated that way is a very unfortunate experience... we are local residents, but we’ll never return... very sorry ... I rather drive to San Jose for my future purchase .. again very sorry and very disappointed...
