After asking if I should make another appointment because I had been waiting 30 minutes after my scheduled appointment (during a not particularly busy time) and needed to get to work, I was told “forget when you made your appointment and sit down.” Literally just asked if I should make a new appointment. Super rude.

The younger lady who works the counter sometimes is great (she wasn’t there this morning), but the older of the two lacks empathy and tact.

The store itself is outdated and cluttered, but that's on corporate.

Some of the staff is friendly, helpful, and kind; others are painful to deal with. Whenever I deal with an unhelpful employee that's wasting my time, I politely walk away and request help from someone else. Usually the other person helps me get what I need, like check inventory, issue rain check, process return, etc.

They have decent skincare options, wide array of cosmetics, and medical supplies.

They also have a poor selection of food products, but I guess it's meant to resolve hunger in a pinch as opposed to stock your pantry. In my case, I was very sick, needed comfort food, and this was closer than a market. They did not carry good chicken noodle soup, etc. but at least they had painkillers/ fever reducers, reusable ice packs, and hydration options like gingerale.

Mature gentleman at the register today (Sunday 12/8) helped me save a lot of money at the register today suggesting I get two extra tides to take advantage of a great deal in store. He was and always is super helpful when I’m there. Just making sure he’s recognized. He’s awesome.

The woman at the register of the pharmacy should find another job. She's rude and barely knows what's she's doing. Also, if I give you something in your hand I would like the same respect. So disrespectful. She needs a remote job where she doesn't have to physically interact with people.

Rude cashier guy getting angry because I paid with EBT and saying I can’t pay by myself. I have a disability called multiple sclerosis. I feel very discriminated.

Duane Reade/Walgreens on 3506 Broadway, Astoria is an awful place. I purchased an item and 3 minutes later I decided the price was too high so went back in to exchange for a cheaper one. The associate at the register was very rude, pretended not to understand my request, asked for a paper receipt, I only have an email receipt and that seemed unreal for her, asked for my ID, scanned it twice making believe that my Enhanced DV was not good. I paid for the exchanges item but the returned item was not deducted from my previous receipt. I don’t know where the refund is and if she put it through. Really nasty experience.

Store is usually very messy. The stuff actually on the shelves are pretty organized and neat, but there are always boxes and carts of extra stuff lying around and crowding the aisles. Selection is pretty limited, to the point where I had to go walk further out to the CVS to get what I need. I usually just come here to get drinks and or things in a pinch since it’s just up the block from me.

Staff is either nice or hella rude. Just went there recently and the guy at the cashier was very rude. While I typing my phone number I asked for a bag and I guess he didn’t hear me. After I was done paying I asked for a bag again and he looked at me frustrated and said he asked me already if I wanted a bag. Maybe I didn’t hear him just like he didn’t hear me when I said I wanted a bag while scanning. While I paid for the bag, he just dropped it on the counter and then got mad that I didn’t grab the receipt fast enough because I was bagging my items, which he clearly wasn’t going to do. And then proceeded to also just drop the receipt on the counter and called for the next customer before I could fully finish and leave. Not to mention, this entire transaction, including me bagging probably took less than 3 minutes because I only grabbed a few water bottles. But that was apparently too long for him.

I don’t bother with the pharmacy because even though it’s the closest one to me, just seeing the state of the store and (un)helpfulness of some of the staff, I can only imagine the state of the pharmacy. The meds I take are somewhat time sensitive and pretty important (missing a day or dose can cause extreme side effects) so I’d rather not deal with possible delays or incompetence as some of the other reviews have mentioned and go elsewhere that’s consistent and reliable.
