Dawn did my hair and it was absolutely beautiful. She was also very kind and made my experience not only relaxing but something I look forward to from now on. She did the best color I have had in years. I’m so grateful to have found her. Lady’s book with her she is amazing.

I love this place. I have been going to Georgia for years now and she never disappoints. She does amazing color hiding all thise unwanted gray hairs. The Hair Lounge is also very relaxing. Everything is clean and comfy and the complimentary drinks are always a nice little perk. I also love that they have parking, making my experiences that much more relaxing!

I love this cute hair lounge and it’s conveniently located in downtown Nevada City. Georgia is amazing and always gets my haircut just right. I have long hair and she always takes care to make long beautiful layers and my hair looks stellar because of her attention to detail. Not only is she a great stylist, but she is so welcoming and sweet. She always offers me refreshments to enjoy while she is pampering me. I look forward to getting haircuts now. Highly recommend.

My appointment started on time, and Kellie took me over to wash my hair. After we were done with the wash she had me to sit on the side with wet hair and wait while she spent 30 minutes washing out dye, cutting, blow drying, and curling some other woman’s hair. When it finally became time for her to resume my appointment, she seemed to rush through it. She did not part my hair evenly down the middle despite that being what we discussed. So now I have a super short, blunt chopped section of hair that is off to one side of my face. I also asked for long layers, and she failed to ask me how long I actually wanted them. Instead she just began cutting away and they are much shorter than I anticipated. I started with extremely long beautiful hair in need of a trim. Now I have a botched haircut, and I will have to go somewhere to get it fixed. But wait, it gets better! She “curled” my hair, and by the time I got home I noticed that half of my head fell flat. How does a “professional” fail so hard? Do yourself a favor and steer clear of Kellie and her Salon if you value quality haircuts.

Isn't it amazing when you move to a new town and find a GREAT hair stylist? Well, I have! I'm so glad I met Kellie Monroe. She has the skills and also an intuitive sense about a client that just makes everything work. No cookie cutter job here. Kellie had a good look at me, listened to my input, and totally nailed it!
I really like the shop as well. It's super clean and kind of a cross between chic modern and an old fashioned speakeasy. I've never experienced a shampoo chair quite as luxurious!
Hair Lounge and Beauty Bar gets my highest recommendation.
