I went to Lilacs Massage in Oct 2023 for a 90 minute deep tissue massage. My masseuse name was Ira. Loved every minute of it! She was very friendly and knew exactly how and where to hit the problem areas to give me a relaxing and satisfying massage. I would highly recommend her!🙂

I am a local resident of Oakhurst, so I have been going to Lilac Massage for over three years. Mary is friendly and professional, her office is always clean (bathroom & massage rooms) I would recommend Lilac to locals or travelers.

Stopped in while on vacation to Yosemite. Got a massage for myself and my husband. She was rude on the phone and later explained because she didn’t “know me”. She’s cash only, $70/hr. She got all the knots out and helped us keep going with our hiking and adventures on our trip. Overall comparing mine Vs my husband massage; I’m not ok.
Overall, if I were a local I wouldn’t be a frequent flyer. I appreciated the masseuse, yet, she was very talkative, gossiped, and often just petted me while she vented or gossiped. She also insulted my body and skin color at least 4x during our session, yet I will be honest in that I know her intention was to be helpful and not hurtful. It’s cultural differences and I’m ok with myself to let it go and not let her candid moments affected my esteem or confidence.
My husband had a massage after mine, where he asked me if she straddled me like she did him; he showed me how she straddled him….she also made comments to him, a man of color, “you’re with that white woman” where she was very inappropriate per his reports to me. He mentioned several positions she placed herself in on his body that confused him and had him ask more questions. This is a man whose had regular deep tissue massages for over 5 years…I’m not ok how she treated me Vs my husband in our sessions; I’m not ok with how she handled herself or placed her body on my husbands. I’m also irritated because my whole session she complained about how gross men customers are and how they ask her for happy endings where she wishes she could massage women only…I will never go back here nor recommend her. Don’t waste your time here.

I slept on my neck wrong two nights ago. So I was looking to get into a massage/spa fairly quickly as the stretching wasn’t helping. While the place seemed cleaned, it was not relaxing. The rooms do not have doors, they have curtains, so noise from other customers or passerby can hear what’s going on in the room and the client, me, can everything outside of the room. The lady was polite but extremely talkative and my personal experience with massages the therapist is normally quiet.. so the client can relax.
The biggest issue I experienced was the cost. While the massage itself was cheap, yay! I paid for an hour massage and got a solid 30 minutes. After that I could tell the therapist was tired, she even stated she was tired. Due to the lack of actual massaging I didn’t plan on tipping. However, when I went to leave the therapist actually asked, “Do you have tip for me?”
I honestly will not be returning. But if your looking for a quick, halfway decent massage go for it.

UPDATE: Its been a week and i discovered that the massage from this place could/probably is the source to my very recent dizzy/lightheadedness that I have been experiencing. I ended up in the hospital this past Sunday due to a fall I experienced. Mind you I am 29. I should not be having these issues. My doctor stated the sustained nerve damage. Good luck!

I love this massage place. I get a deep tissue and although its painful, because my body hurts everywhere! But it is needed! I feel better in a day or 2. when my muscles start to loosen up From the massage. I need to go like once or twice a week but I can’t afford it I wish I could!
I would recommend this place ,definitely! She’s polite and kind.

Mary was my massage lady. I normally don't chat during massage because most Chinese ladies don't speak English. Mary has been in the USA long enough that she's fun to talk with.

Also, I rarely find a massage lady that can cover my back, legs, head, neck, and arms. Mary got it all done in the 1 hour.👍

Mary, please move to San Diego so you can give me weekly massage.

If I could give 0 stars, I would. I never take the time to leave reviews regardless of my experience at businesses, but this was so bad, I felt I owed it to others to warn them never to come here.

My boyfriend and I were staying in the area because we were visiting Yosemite for his 30th birthday. I thought it would be nice to get a massage after a long day of hiking. I called about 2 weeks prior to make the appointment for a COUPLE’S massage. This service is specifically listed on their website, so I thought nothing of it and was looking forward to enjoying a massage in the same room as my boyfriend after our hike.

When we arrived we were forced to pay for the service (in cash only) before we received our massage, which has never happened to me before. I found it odd but proceeded to pay. We were then rushed into 2 separate rooms even though we kept saying “no we wanted a couples massage in the same room.” Her response was “don’t worry, I’m married.” We both found it highly offensive for her to assume that was the reason why we wanted a couple’s massage. That should have been my cue to ask for my money back and leave on the spot.

It was very hot in the studio which was uncomfortable. The lady brought her dog to her business, and it was barking nonstop throughout the massage. She also tried to make conversation with my boyfriend throughout the entire massage which made him uncomfortable and unable to relax. Her talking also made me unable to relax because the doorway separating the two rooms was only closed with a curtain and a dresser so I could hear her as if she was talking directly to me. She left my boyfriend’s massage several times to answer the loudly ringing phone and to help a walk in guest.

My therapist didn’t seem like an experienced massage therapist whatsoever. It seemed as though the lady that massaged my boyfriend called in her friend to lightly rub me and call it a massage. To be fair, the start of the massage was nice. It felt good when she rubbed my head, but from there it got progressively worse and I just grew more angry and unable to relax as time went on. She touched my face entirely too much and snagged my earring. We paid for an hour massage and they ended the service before an hour was up. My boyfriend received hot stones during his massage and I absolutely did not. My lady told me she was done and left the room so I could get dressed, but she kept coming back in to clean up while I wasn’t clothed. It was highly inappropriate and made me that much more upset.

At this point I felt like crying. I tried to plan the perfect birthday weekend for my boyfriend and I felt so bad this was the type of massage it wound up being. Because the price was already way more than I’m used to paying and because we paid in cash, I decided not to tip them. Everyone in the studio was aware I was unhappy, yet the lady went ahead and rudely asked for a tip anyways. I walked out clearly upset, but my boyfriend being the sweet person he is gave them $20 to split. Instead of thanking him, she had the audacity to say “That’s it? For both of us?”

Horrible environment, horrible experience, horrible lack of awareness from Lilac Massage. Do yourselves a favor and never go!

Mary is a great woman. She is friendly and gets those horrid knots worked out. I have a nerve issue that she had always been really good with. If you're in Oakhurst, I say go get a massage from Mary.
