I am a big time lush person. For 15 years now. This location is closest to me so I went to return an online order. I was told by the staff that helped me that I can’t return an online order without contacting lush and getting a voucher for them to scan in store. I didn’t argue, though this seemed weird to me, and moved on.

I tried to contact lush and was unable to get anyone to respond via phone or email or app. I happened to be in century city today and so I went to that lush to see if they would be more understanding. They were, were able to return my item, and told me the Sherman oaks location also could have but they most likely didn’t want the return because it counts against the days sales.

I I’m not sure what happened to this store, but every time I need to set boundaries with staff who want to help me shop, it’s the same experience. Bath and Body Works and Victoria’s Secret are similar, so I usually opt for online pick-up in-store to avoid this. Unfortunately, I didn’t have time today and tried to quickly pop in.

I used to work for Lush, so I understand the pressure to make sales. I’ve even told them that I don’t need help, but I’m still approached several times after I’ve made it clear.

I get overwhelmed by crowds, so I wore my headphones to buy a few things after a really hard day at work. The store was packed, and Lush was in the middle of it. I thought wearing headphones would signal to the staff that I didn’t want to be approached. I just wanted to buy three things, get in and out quickly, and go home. I was listening to music, but the staff didn’t know I could hear them laughing at me and having an attitude when I decided to come in and grab what I needed and get out because I didn’t want to talk about all the new Christmas stuff, Wicked, and so on.

The girl in the pink crop top and green pants went so far as to stand in front of me while I was in line, trying to ask me if I needed anything after one other person had already tried and thrown up her hands when I ignored her. The first lady (not crop top) is someone I try to avoid every time I come in because she doesn’t take no for an answer.

I’ve asked on multiple occasions during my visits to this store to shop on my own, but the Lush staff seems unable to let people shop in peace.

I’m so disgusted with what happened today, especially to the girl in the pink shirt who thought it was funny to stand in front of me and laugh. Please have some tact. It really takes no effort to extend kindness to someone and the predatory sales tactic at this store where this girl tried to force eye contact with me then laugh with her coworkers is really gross.

I had the most amazing time at Lush! Stormy is absolutely fantastic and was super helpful. If you need help or have any questions on what would be best for your skin, I highly recommend asking for Stormy. Demos of the products were so informational and fun when she helped me. My skin looks and feels amazing!!! Will definitely come back.
