Popped in this little grocery store as our last stop before heading into the woods for 4 days. They had a surprisingly good variety of items from Seventh Generation, Tazo tea, Garden of Eatin'. I suppose I shouldn't be surprised at the selection, given I was in Humboldt County, but the exterior gives this place a real old-time feel, like a place from the 70s. Why fix it if it isn't broken? Lots of fresh produce, even heirloom and Early Girl tomatoes for cheaper than you'd find in bigger towns. I didn't get a chance to check their meat counter but they had some beautiful looking loaves of bread and baked goods that I had to pass up becoming we already brought some provisions with us. Happy to keep supporting smaller businesses like this, staff was friendly too.

Great little store. Has all you need. Good Selection. Recently Renovating and it’s looking nice. The Employees/cashier ladies hold this place down solid!

Recommendation to Management: Please make parking area designated in & out and angled parking spaces. Lower prices!!!

And allow customers to tip their cashiers!
I would love to see a tip jar at each cashier

I feel relaxed and the down to earth employees make it feel kinda comfortable being there I really admired the I believe her name is Brianna she's manager I think either way it is advancing and getting better everyday my most favorite worker aside from Brianna is Becky she is absolutely awesome then there is Phillis I just appreciate them and good job guys oh ya and price friendly managers special thank u!!!!

Shop Smart with basic stuff in a Boomtown gone bust.
How they stay open is a mystery.
Dredway people have moved on, & I suggest you do the same.
I give Shop Smart a year before it mysteriously disappears.

Shop Smart Dredway is a lost cause.
Soon to disappear like Geiger's Market in Laytonville.
Hippy green rush is history too.
Shop Smart cannot survive this population shift .
Maybe Ray's groceries in Garberville can stay open ?

Very friendly staff and shelfs are usually stocked with items. Very friendly community and even the homeless people are easygoing and respectful. I give them money every time I go there to help them out with their needs. So if you see somebody that needs help, it's a good thing to help them out and karma will come back around 10 fold. They're also open till midnight every day which is super awesome.

Prices are really steep, captured market, deli food is white trailer trash dining, like you would expect in Oklahoma. Personally I drive to Eureka for a Costco run every week or two, INFINITELY better value. Just one example, tubs of spinach at Ray's and Shops Smart are 5oz and $4.99....exact same brand at Costco,16oz and the price is $3.79!!! Get 3 times as much plus a bonus ounce and save $1.20!!!!
