Located inside the Active Wellness gym, being able to get a sandwich here after my workout is literally the only thing that convinces me to get my butt to the gym. Their sandwiches and smoothies are phenomenal and the staff is awesome. Easily one of the best sandwich shops in Sonoma county.

We love The Local! Chris and Raul’s talent and creativity is representative in every dish they create. I am always greeted with a calm and friendly demeanor and truly love the atmosphere they have created. I have tried several dishes on their menu and have honestly enjoyed every one of them. My six year old twins absolutely love their “power up” smoothie and the “Redwoods” sandwich. I recently enjoyed the “orange winter salad” and their avocado hummus is absolutely amazing! The Local makes it easy to grab yourself a healthy and fresh meal while on-the-go.

Hands down one of the best sandwich and smoothie shops in Petaluma! The sandwiches aren’t your typical deli sandwich, they are way better. The ingredients are always fresh and local. These craft sandwiches are delicious and every bite explodes with flavor in your mouth. The smoothies are made with fruit and oat milk; no added ice or any unnecessary ingredients. I definitely recommend The Local if you are looking for a really good bite to eat!!

A couple of weeks ago, I visited The Local for the first time, and I can confidently say it’s the best sandwich shop in town! The food is not only fresh and healthy but also absolutely delicious. On top of that, the staff and owner are incredibly kind and professional, making the experience even better. The Local truly is “the local” best Petaluma sandwich spot ever. I am obsessed with their Petaluma Sandwich — I add bacon & it truly is perfection. Well worth $17! It is so simple, yet so perfect. Life’s biggest pleasures truly are the most simple. I know people rave about Lombardi’s and Sourdough Co, but this place leaves them in the dust. I highly recommend this to anyone. Happiness in a sandwich 🙂

The Petaluma: wow, that was an elevated sandwich. All ingredients super fresh, seasoned well, complimentary. Possibly one of the best sandwiches I have ever had in life. In this case the 4.9 rating is justified and true. Thank you 🙏

We were passing through Petaluma and the first sandwich shop we went to, we felt hostile from the patrons immediately as we walked in, so we left. The atmosphere here is much better and inviting. This sandwich is inside the Active fitness center, you do not need to be a member to eat here.

The sandwiches are excellent and a solid deal for the quality and quantity. We got the Point Reyes and the Cubano. The ingredients combination in each sandwich did not overpower one another and went well together. The pickled veggies were especially good and pickled well, it wasn’t too vinegary. The sourdough bread itself was delicious; it was sour, soft, and the crust was not tough and easy to chew. The sandwich size itself is huge, roughly ten inches. I appreciated the wrapping of the sandwich. The sandwiches are wrapped once, sliced with the wax paper, then wrapped again in wax paper and given to you. This made it easy for us to eat the sandwiches and also for me to pack away the other half of mine.

The smoothie itself was equally delicious and great bang for buck also. I got the Tropics and I could taste the real fruit. The drink itself was also filled to the tippy top. I appreciated that all the smoothies were made with oat milk, this is a personal preference, but oat milk is just delicious.

I will be coming back when I go through the area. I want to try one of the vegetarian or vegan sandwiches next time, those sounded amazing too just on paper.

Such good sandwiches! I’ve already had 3 and all were delicious. I’ve also tried a few juices, smoothies, and the pizza. You can tell The Local cares a lot about the quality of their food. I’ll absolutely be going back again and again!
