The TLDR:
It was not the worse experience imaginable however to pay $110 for an hour massage and not feel like I actually received a service from a licensed practitioner really leaves a bad taste in my mouth. The lack of communication about the sauna - or the weirdness in asking about it, was also not great. To also have my feedback ignored makes it even worse.

I got a massage for the first time from Wolf Mountain a week ago. I saw that it got good reviews so was excited to try it out. Although the atmosphere was nice and the facilities were clean, I received a very lack luster massage and ran into some communication issues. I reached out via email to talk to someone about my experience but disappointedly never heard back.

My massage therapist was extremely nice and friendly however, even though I asked for more pressure during the massage it was still very light pressure. This was one of the lower pressure massages I've ever received. Additionally, she also put my arms into a few compromising positions twice (each side, feeling like my shoulder blades were going to be pulled out of place), which I've never experienced and anyone who knows anatomy (I would think a licensed therapist) would know not to do.

My cousin also got a massage at the same time and her masseuse gave more appropriate (firmer) pressure AND put hot towels on her feet and a mask over her eyes for facing up. I received neither of those little touches that help create a relaxing and enjoyable massage experience.

Part of the reason I booked at Wolf Mountain is because they had a sauna to use for 30 min in addition to your massage. When I booked the appointment the person on the phone let me know that they were having issues with the sauna and that it might not be working the day we'd be in. Totally fine. Fast forward to our massages and arrived at the spa, we were told once again that the sauna was not working. Again, fine. As we were checking out, the person at the front desk was on a call booking a sauna appointment for the next day. Once they got off the phone I told her we were told twice that the sauna wasn't working and she just shrugged.

Chelsea was amazing! I had a sound healing massage with her that literally was one of the best massages I've ever had. And I've had quite a few! Go in with an open mind and heart and come out with a brand new set of wings. She released so much, not just muscle tension. Thank you!!

The staff at Wolf Mountain are extremely friendly and knowledgeable. The atmosphere is calm and relaxing with beautifully decorated surroundings. I took advantage of their waxing services and for the first time ever experienced no break outs after my face wax. Miriam runs a very classy service and I recommend Wolf Mountain for a great day of pampering for yourself or someone else.

I have been to Calistoga Mud & Reno Casino Spa's many times, but Wolf Mt Day Spa is the best EVER & it's right here in my back yard. Can't wait to give one of their packages to a friend......best gift ever, from my husband.....just saying

I have been going to Wolf Mountain Day Spa for close to 10 years. The staff is so friendly and amazing. The staff is always outgoing and willing to help you in any way they can. Whether you are there for a massage or just a facial, they are alway professional and do an awesome job. Hands down I would never go to anyone else and only trust Wolf Mountain with my skin and Massage needs.

You need to try this place because the staff is truly amazing and know how to take care of you...

It’s a shame that some of these old reviews are still here Wolf Mountain Day Spa has been under new management for over a year and I had my eyebrows and eyeliner done there by Coco and she did a fantastic job. I couldn’t be happier she is a perfectionist. I will definitely return for other services. Thank you Dan and Coco!

I've been going to Wolf Mountain for 5 years now. I've experienced the waxing services, and received numerous manicures and pedicures from Kristi. Every time I go, it is relaxing and you are given 5-star treatment! The technicians have always been happy to answer any questions I've had, and I've never had any problems with rude staff; everyone is always so nice and accommodating. Highly recommend! Kristi is the best nail professional ever! She takes notes of each visit and keeps track of your mani/pedi services including the names and colors of the polish (and any extras) you've chosen during your visits. Very personalized and personable. I booked a massage for this upcoming weekend and cannot wait to experience the Tranquility Massage for the first time!
